Wisdom

Disciple: James, son of Ebbed

Month of March

Tribe of Israel: Dan

Revelations 21:11-14

WISDOM is of the Spirit

WISDOM is the power to discern real value, real and continuing interests.

WISDOM in the mind of God is an idea of choice.

WISDOM in man is the God given ability to discern rightness, accuracy, balance, grace and truth.

Let’s take a few moments for reflection and contemplation. Let’s shut the door of our minds to outer concerns and listen to still small voice of the invisible Christ at the very center of our beings. Quietly affirm your awareness of the clear insight and guidance of the incarnate Christ, mankind’s universal invisible Way-shower, Savior and Lord, through your spiritual core.

Prayer:

We now share this prayer together.

O thou King eternal, immortal and invisible, thou only wise God our Savior; hasten the coming of your kingdom within our souls, hearts, minds while on this earth. Lovingly draw all humankind into willing obedience to your blessed reign, O Christ. Overcome all enemies to Christ, and bring low every power that rises up against Christ's reign. Let your Holy Spirit rule and reveal in the hearts of all men in righteousness, justice, peace and truth.
Amen.

Devotion

In 2 Timothy 1:7, the Apostle Paul reminds young Timothy that God has not give to humankind the spirit of fear. Our divine potential is power, love and sound thinking. He admonishes Timothy to be zealous in stirring up the spiritual gifts of power, love and wisdom through the Christ-centered spiritual mindfulness.

When contemplating the inner spiritual meaning of the teaching of Jesus, we discover that Jesus’ primary focus was transforming human hearts, minds and attitudes. His secondary emphasis was on changing behavior, though changing mindsets. The central idea being, "Change your thinking and you will automatically change your life". Keep this divine idea of repentance in mind as we focus on the virtue of wisdom, during the month of March.

I wonder what kind of life we would have and what kind of a world would we be living in today, if Adam and Eve and all our other earthly ancestors had been obedient to the Lord’s wise injunction to avoid eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the middle of the Garden? Look at the chaotic nature of the world we now live i,n because we continue to embrace man-made, false-self belief system. We continue to disobey God’s mandate by embracing the suggestions of the serpent, the deceiving and unregenerate phase of our minds?

Wisdom is one of the spiritual powers of the Christ in the spiritual core of every person. We each have this center of power and consciousness to discern real values, truth and set appropriate priorities. Wisdom is everyone’s God-given ability to potentially realize and manifest righteousness, balance, justice, truth and peace. In Matthew 7:24 Jesus of Nazareth assures us that everyone who hears his teaching and centers his / her ideas, thoughts, intentions and actions in them, will be like a wise man who built his house on a rock.

In Proverbs 3:13-19, we read these words about wisdom, “Happy are those who find wisdom and those who get understanding, for her income is better than silver, and her revenue better than gold. She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called happy. The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens”

When we choose to follow Jesus in Christ-centered spiritual mindfulness, we soon discover that Christ forever dwells in our midst us and within our spiritual core of everu person. This spiritual realization is the beginning of true wisdom. This reality and experience of Christ as an indwelling Spirit Presence rather a nebulous metaphysical idea is true spiritual discernment and sound judgment.

In the Gospel of John 1:1-5, we read that the Christ, now hidden because of spiritual blindness, interpenetrating all creation. Christ laid the earth’s foundations and set the heavens in place. Christ is the invisible Essence and Substance, out of which we and all forms are created. Jesus came into the world to reveal Christ as God's indwelling wisdom in the spiritual core of every person. Jesus taught and modeled how humankind can regain our birthrights of wisdom, eternal and abundant life, and experience re-birth and reconciliation with God and each other through Christ of God.

Are you willing, through daily practical application of Jesus' Wisdom teachings, to modeling your mindset and life after Jesus of Nazareth? Will you cross out the false-self systems of thinking and progressively release and manifest God's Wisdom, Powers, Gifts and Virtues through the indwelling Christ within our spiritual core? Are you now discering and experiencing the Christ-centered, Spirit-based Foundations of Truth within you?

Daily Practical Application & Affirmation:

  • Wisdom is now quickened in me!

  • Divine wisdom is available to me through Christ-centered spiritual mindfulness.

  • Like Jesus, I choose to make the incarnate Christ the creative center of my life.

  • I now discern real values and find daily practical application for the universal laws of Life, which Jesus taught and practiced.

  • I set appropriate spiritual-based priorities for my life.
