The Easter Season
March 23rd, 2008 - May 17th, 2008
Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ
and the forty day period with his disciples after his crucifixion,
death and three days in the tomb. Many Christian believers who
seek to follow Jesus in regeneration, therefore see resurrection
also as the raising up of the whole man soul, mind, and body
into the awareness of the indwelling Christ of God in our spiritual
nature, after being entombed in the mind of the flesh.
Mystics in all the world religions recognize that every time
we rise in conscious realization of this eternal indwelling Christ
as God, the Father, individualized in our spiritual nature, we
make union with the same Father-Mind, Jesus knew during his thirty-three
year physical life and visible ministry.
After Jesus’ resurrection, ascension and the Day of Pentecost,
the apostles became remarkably different in personality and character. They
demonstrated the same inner spiritual power and authority over
sin, sickness and death Jesus had. This post-resurrection transformation
attracted others to seek the newly discovered kingdom of God
in our midst and within us (Luke 17:20-21). They enthusiastically
continued the Christ-centered, non-violent spiritual awakening
which John the Baptist and Jesus of Nazareth initiated. This
resurrection experience of Easter people has rippled throughout
the centuries.
For the first 200 years many in the early church celebrated
the Easter season with hospitality, singing and feasting. Their
lives were filled with new freedom, new meaning, new purpose
and spiritual discernment. They developed a deep love and personal
covenant relationship with the Christ of God as the enduring
indwelling Divine Presence in their spiritual nature. They sought
to anchor the kingdom of heaven within themselves, in their midst
and throughout our planet.
Today many believers seek a deep abiding union with risen Christ
of God as the omnipresent Spirit of God individualized within
the spiritual nature of each and every person. This risen indwelling
Christ of God is anointed by the Holy Spirit to bring spiritual
vision, spiritual liberty, and spiritual healing. The indwelling
Christ of God continues to proclaim and further establish the
kingdom of God in our midst and within us (Luke 4:18-19, Luke
17:20-21).
Throughout this 2004 Easter Season let us join the early spiritually
awake, Christ-centered believers in finding creative ways to
more fully understand and share the inner spiritual meanings
of the Easter Season, the resurrection of Jesus Christ and personal
resurrection in our daily lives. Let us celebrate not only
the resurrection of Jesus Christ 2000 years ago, but also our
awareness of the presence and activity of the risen Christ of
God in our midst and within each person, as Savior, Lord, Master
and sovereign King. |
