Building Shared Vision
Definition:
- The practice of building shared vision
involves the skills of unearthing and sharing personal “pictures
of the future”.
- Creating and holding a shared vision
of the future we seek to create.
- Binding of people together
around a common identity and sense of destiny.
- Where there is
a genuine shared vision, as opposed to the all familiar ‘vision statement’,
people excel and learn not because they are told to but because
they want to.
- The visioning process fosters genuine
ownership, commitment and enrolment rather than compliance
Initial Focus:
- Begin by picturing a spiritual learning
center which encourages open dialogue, nurturing and spiritual
growth.
- Looking inward and unearthing personal
visions in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
- Finding and
establishing the common identities that exists among a
diversified group of people.
- Moving from ‘their’ organization
consciousness to ‘our’ organization consciousness.
What does this process involve?
- Remembering personal mastery

vision.
- Remembering that people’s personal
visions usually include dimensions that involve families,
organizations, community and the world (planet).
